In Heavy Rotation: Futurebirds - Hampton's Lullaby

One thing I'm doing a particularly lousy job of is posting about the music that I'm regularly spinning. I hope to change that in the coming weeks....
Lately I've had the new Futurebirds record, Hampton's Lullaby (Autumn Tone Records) on constant repeat. The Athens, Georgia band is what you'd get if you crossed the energy/vibe of alt-country bands like Uncle Tupelo, The Jayhawks and Son Volt with the production of early My Morning Jacket records and the lyrics of mid-80's Michael Stipe.
My two favorite tracks are "Sam Jones" and "Battle For Rome," but the whole album will grow on you, big time....
