[Pick of the Night] Avi Buffalo / The Faraway Places / Starburst Crystal Ensemble @ The Echo (Free) – Avi Buffalo’s doing a Tuesday night residency this month at the Echo. Aaron Embry of Amnion’s been a huge cheerleader for them, so I’m looking forward to finally checking them out.

Mike Stinson @ Redwood Bar
Theressa Andersson @ Largo ($20)

It’s interesting stuff. The Meditations are a legendary reggae band from Jamaica.

[Recommended] Amateurs / The World Record / Death to Anders / Never At Night @ Spaceland ($8) – This is the record release party for Amateurs new three song 12”. It’s good stuff (you can stream it on their Myspace page) and good karma to support local bands that go the expense/trouble of releasing on vinyl.

KROQ Weenie Roast: Weezer / Jimmy Eat World / Kings of Leon / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Silversun Pickups / Rancid / The Airborne Toxic Event @ Irvine Meadows (Sold Out) – A surprisingly inoffensive lineup.

Allow me to suggest the addition of The Airliner's Tuesday weekly Tank! Tuesdays - I'm a bit biased as my band MA46 is on at 11. ( let me know if you want a review copy of our EP, otherwise you can get a free dl here )
