One of my most eagerly anticipated new releases is:
The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night (out March 9th on Jagjaguwar). They put on a phenomenal show at the Troubadour while touring for their last record; unfortunately only about 20 people saw it. Face melting.
Here's an appetizer from their new record, courtesy of Jagjaguwar:
MP3: Albatross

The saddest thing about that show was that apparently it was one of the larger crowds they played to on that tour. "It's so nice to have people actually came out to see us," they kept saying -- I guess the midwest clubs they'd been playing in the days leading up to that night were literally empty, and they were ridiculously grateful to have twenty folks watching them here in LA. Can't wait to see that band again. They really are mighty. Thanks for the heads-up on their new record!
