Live Music Options 7/14/08 - 7/20/08


I was out of town Thursday through Sunday, so it's good to see an active concert calendar this week. Any week you can see Earlimart, Darker My Love, 400 Blows, The Henry Clay People, The Movies, Jason Falkner, Sharon Jones, Jesus & Mary Chain and Gang of Four in one week is a pretty good week.
Monday 7/14/08

[Recommended] Darker My Love / Crystal Antlers @ Echo (Free) – The new Darker My Love record is strong. I predict heavy radio airplay. They’ve always been a great live band. If you can’t make it tonight, they’ll be doing the same thing next Friday. Crystal Antlers recently got best new music on Pitchfork.

Nice -- looking forward to that Meiko show at the Hotel Cafe on the 16th - I think it'll be a while before she plays in L.A. again, according to her MySpace page -- she always delivers live.
