Ticket Giveaway: Dam-Funk and the Coathangers
I've got some tickets to give away for the Dam-Funk, Coathangers, Nocando, Salva show this Thursday at Freak City (see the poster above for the address). This show's being presented by our pals at Passion of the Weiss. Weiss has really good taste, so this promises to be a cool mix of Low End Theory, hip hop and punk rock (The Coathangers are an all girl punk rock band from Atlanta).
To win a pair of tickets email me [dukeufo at gmail] with the name of your favorite record of 2011. The contest closes Wednesday at 9:00 PM. Please put "Dam-Funk Tickets" in the subject line.

Tame Impala Play the Echo and Silverlake Lounge This Week
A few updates since I originally posted this last week...
Monday 6/28/10
[Pick of the Week] Rainbow Arabia / Gary Wilson & the Blind Dates / Tame Impala / Weave! @ The Echo (Free) - Rainbow Arabia saved the best for last. Tame Impala's one of the biggest buzz bands right now (good psychedelic music from Australia). Gary Wilson was name checked in Beck's biggest hit, "Like my man Gary Wilson." And it's free.
