Los Angeles Live Music Options: 4/27/09 - 5/2/09

Wye Oak Play the Silverlake Lounge on Thursday

I made it out to Spaceland last Monday for the Henry Clay People and The Whip (who had a mechanical breakdown). Then I spend the rest of the week recovering from Coachella. Some pretty good options this week. Black Lips, Wye Oak and lots of great local bands....
Monday 4/27/09
[Pick of the Night] The Henry Clay People / Young Love / Flying Tourbillon Orchestra / Swim Party @ Spaceland (Free) This will most likely be your last chance to see the Henry Clay People for a while. Now that they’ve got a serious booking agent, they’re playing Coachella, etc. They’ve promised some surprises tonight (including a lot of covers).
[Recommended] Fool’s Gold / John Webster Johns / Leopold and His Fiction / Daedelus @ The Echo (Free) – Fool’s Gold has been packing the Echo during their Monday night residency. This is your last chance to see them for a while. Daedelus is heading out on a European tour later this week.
[Recommended] Dusty Rhodes and the River Band / Olin and the Moon / Leslie and the Badgers / Divisadero @ Silverlake Lounge (Free) – The Monday night residencies have been competitive this month. Your last chance at seeing tDusty Rhodes and the River Band.

[Recommended] Tinted Windows / The Broken West @ Troubadour (Sold Out) – I’m a little afraid to hear a supergroup that consists of a Hanson, a Pumpkin, a Fountain of Wayne and Cheap Trick’s drummer. Get there early for The Broken West.

[Recommended] Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros / Lukas Haas / Soko / Rumspringa @ Regent Theatre ($5) – The Regent Theatre is the new sight of Little Radio. The location is much, much better. Edward Sharpe will be playing the next two weeks as well. I've heard some good buzz.
