Tuesday Night Music Options 2/20/07

Ferraby Lionheart at Tangier Tonight
Last night was one of those weird Spaceland nights with celebrities in the house and technical glitches on stage. I was happy to finally see Tigers Can Bite You. Good indie rock. How does Dave Woody sing so high? Unfortunately Bedroom Walls played a short set and all I managed to see was a very sloppy cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Division Day sounded very good but some keyboard glitches interrupted their high energy set. Next week is the last chance to see them during their residency. I had to get home to bed before Twilight Sleep came on. I'm old (and got up at 6:00AM yesterday).
Tonight's Pick:
The Minor Canon @ Sea Level (Free) 7:00PM – The Minor Canon’s new album comes out today. Celebrate with them at Sea Level. There will be refreshments. They’re also doing the Monday night residency at Spaceland in April.
Then:
Ferraby Lionheart / Willoughby @ Tangier ($8) – Ferraby Lionheart is a local singer-songwriter who just signed to Nettwerk. This is a warm up show before he heads out with Autumn Defense and then the Walkmen with the Broken West. I'm anxious to see him, but circumstances always get in the way.
Also Appearing:
Jesu @ Spaceland - Jesu canceled due to work visa problems. I really don't know if Oxbow, Intronaut and Everlovely Lightningheart are still playing or not.
The Monolators / Nico Stai / Kissing Cousins @ the Echo (Free) – Nico Stai’s got some nice acoustic singer-songwriter songs.
Roxycottontail / Lazaro Casanova @ Safari Sam’s ($5 for 21+, $10 for under 21) – For the indie dance party scene. Download Lazar Casanova’s “Shorts and Heels
Luke Paquin @ Hotel CafĂ© – Hot Hot Heat guitarist.
In Waves / Black Pine @ Silverlake Lounge ($7) – In Waves have been doing a Tuesday night residency through the Fold. They play dreamy, atmospheric rock ‘n’ roll.
