Live Music Options 4/21/08 - 4/27/08

Throw Me the Statue Play the Silverlake Lounge on Thursday
I made it out to Tweak Bird and Bobb Bruno on Friday, but that was my only show last week (other than a quick stop at Spaceland on Monday). Hopefully more this week. Even if you're not going to Coachella, there are plenty of options. Bolded bands are the ones I'm going to make my best effort to see. Hit me up if you hear of any other secret shows....
Monday 4/21/08
[Recommended] Radars to the Sky / Rademacher / You Me and Iowa @ the Echo (Free) – Rademacher goes on first, then some undisclosed special guests (RFSL seems to think it’s Airborne Toxic Event), then Radars to the Sky and then You Mie and Iowa.
[Recommended] Johnathan Rice / Jonathan Wilson / Johnathan P. Sparagaus / Amnion @ Spaceland (Free) – All you Jenny Lewis stalkers missed her performing with Rice last week. This week’s lineup includes Rice’s buddy (and guitar player) Jonathan Wilson doing his own set. Johnathan P. Sparagus is obviously a pseudonym (I think for Farmer Dave, but I’m not positive). Amnion is Aaron Embry’s band.

Norfolk & Western / Lamps @ Bordello ($8)
[Recommended] Patton Oswalt @ Largo (Reservations Booked)
[Recommended] Blanket / Bobb Bruno @ Echo Curio (Free) – I finally saw Bobb Bruno play on Friday night. He dresses up in a bunny outfit and then does some pretty amazing stuff with a drum machine. Very entertaining.

[Recommended] Architecture in Helsinki / The Ruby Sons / The Happy Hollows @ the Echo ($15) – AiH is “unofficial” because they’re playing Coachella. If it doesn’t happen, don’t yell at me. The Ruby Sons are a new Sub Pop band from New Zealand who got best new music on Pitchfork. Download “Tane Mahuta
