Monday Night Music Options 10/8/07

Oliver Future Continues Their Spaceland Residency Tonight

It was a rare, music free weekend for me. I did see USC get upset on Saturday (they were 40 point favorites) and made it to Darjeeling Limited. Wes-shtick.
TiVo Alert: The Shins on Leno
Tonight's Pick:
Oliver Future / Hearts of Palm UK / Twilight Sleep @ Spaceland (Free) – Oliver Future’s doing the Monday night residency this month. Tracy from Twilight Sleep has a really interesting voice and they've got a good local following.
Other Options:

Aushua / Oppenheimer @ Silverlake Lounge (Free) – Aushua are doing the Monday night residency this month. They’re an upbeat OC band with some good potential.

Holly Golightly / Castledoor @ the Echo ($12 / free after 10:30PM) – If you want to see Holly Golightly you’ll have to pay. If you wanna see Castledoor for free, you’ll have to wait until 10:30PM. I'll probably skip it tonight and shoot for next week.

Justice @ the Fonda ($23) – Some of the leaders of the French indie-dance/Ed Banger scene.

Morrissey / Kristeen Young @ Palladium ($55)

Fionn Regan / Brandi Shearer / Charlie Wadhams @ Troubadour ($15) – Fionn Regan looks like one of those overly stylized, overly earnest singer-songwriter types, but he’s better than that.

The Oohlas / Radars to the Sky @ Viper Room ($10 or free with RSVP to Viper Room)
