What are you guys doing next Friday (July 7th)? Anybody else wanna check out the Irving / The Rentals / Ozma show at the Henry Fonda Theatre? The first two people to email me at dukeufo [@] hotmail.com will get a set of tickets (they’re actual tickets and you must be able to pick them up in West Hollywood between 10am and 7pm sometime this week).
I don't have to tell you about Irving. They’re a local indie pop band that I’ve written about many times before. They write infectious pop songs and always put on an energetic live show. The Rentals are Matt Sharp’s band (the original bass player in Weezer). They haven’t played or put out a record in a long time, so anticipation is high. He’s a talented songwriter (and Weezer hasn’t been the same since he left). Hopefully he’ll break out tracks from Return of the Rentals and Seven More Minutes and some new tracks.
