Friday Night Music Options 7/6/07

I made it out for part of Patrick Park's set last night at Spaceland. After a 12 hour work day I was pretty beat. He's still a great guitar player and has that voice. I'll probably go back in a couple of weeks when Afternoons open the show.

For the road trippers:
Clean Air, Clear Stars: Stevenson Ranch Davidians / The Tyde / Lion Fever @ Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown ($12) - This is a cool sounding festival out in Pioneertown near Joshua Tree. Lots of LA and West Coast bands playing for Global Inheritance and Joshua Tree. If you haven't been out there, it's a very cool and unique place.

For the LA-bound:
The Clean Prophets @ the Scene - I haven't seen them with their new bass player.
The Shore / The Sky Drops / Electromagnetic @ El Cid ($8) - The Shore's an underrated local band that got snapped up and dropped by Maverick all too quickly. Very anthemic tunes.
The Amateurs / The Monolators @ Mr. T’s Bowl
Rocco DeLuca @ The Fonda ($18) – Soulful singer from Long Beach.
The Mike Savage Benefit Show: Speedbuggy, Motochrist, Los Creepers @ Safari Sam’s ($15)
