Lucinda Williams Five Nights at El Rey

If you're a fan of rootsy, bluesy singer-songwriters, Lucinda Williams is one of the best. She was one of the highlights of the Stagecoach festival this year and her live band is fantastic. As I mentioned before, she's doing a five night stand at the El Rey Theatre in September. During each show she'll be playing one album in its entirety followed by a second set where she'll presumably play material from her more recent album, West. Here are the details:
Wednesday Sept. 5th - World Without Tears (great album)
Thursday Sept. 6th - Essence (great album)
Saturday Sept. 8th - Car Wheels on a Gravel Road (my favorite Lucinda album)
Sunday Sept. 9th - Sweet Old World (good album, with a great cover of Nick Drake's "Which Will")
Monday Sept. 10th - Lucinda Williams (I don't actually own this one)
Ticket for each of these shows are currently on sale. It will cost you $35 ($46 after service charges). You can also get a five day pass for the price of four of the shows - $140 ($160 after service charges).
She's doing the same thing in New York city....
