FM Static: Critically Ashamed(Tooth & Nail)
Kill Hannah: Until There's Nothing Left of Us (Atlantic) – The All Music Guide compares it to MBV, JAMC, the Cure and Fugazi. That’s high praise.
The Pink Spiders: Teenage Graffiti (Geffen) – “safe punk” according to the All Music Guide
Serge Gainsbourg: Monsieur Gainsbourg the Originals (Verve Forecast) – One of the sleaziest men in rock history. This compilation includes 13 tracks of originals. There are better compilations out there. I’d pick up Comic Strip if you’re looking for an entry point.
Towers of London: Blood Sweat and Towers (TVT) – Some sleazy rock’n’roll.
Various Artists: Monsieur Gainsbourg Revisited (Verve Forecast) – Featuring Franz Ferdinand, Cat Power, Jarvis Cocker, Portishead, Michael Stipe, Jane Birkin, Francoise Hardy, Placebo, The Rakes, The Kills, etc. While these things usually aren’t worth the money, this one’s supposed to be pretty good as far as thesethings go.
