Highlights from Tonight's Music Calendar - Friday 9/14/07

Built To Spill

Friday's Pick:

Built to Spill /Jonathan Siegel / The Delusions @ Henry Fonda Theatre ($18) – I’ve enjoyed their last five studio albums. They’re one of the monsters of 1990s indie rock that’s still at it. After J. Mascis, Doug Martsch might be the king of indie guitar.
Other Options:

Cinematic Orchestra / Grey Reverend @ El Rey ($19)

Anders Parker @ Hotel Café – Rootsy, singer-songwriter stuff from the former Varnaline dude.

Dirty Projectors / Yacht @ Echoplex ($10) – The Dirty Projectors new album is a recreation (supposedly from memory) of Black Flag’s Damaged. Apparently the lyrics are the same, but little else resembles the original. Yacht has a lot of hipster cred too.

Calvin Harris / BM Linx @ the Echo ($8) – Calvin Harris has some buzz; for the indie dance crowd.

Ivan Ives @ Airliner – Russian rapper. Download “Victory

Audra Hardt @ Keyclub

The Bravery / War Tapes @ Wiltern ($25)
