Bright Eyes / Yo La Tengo / M. Ward @ Hollywood Bowl ($20-$75) – Pool seats are available at the moment. Those are great seats. I’ve seen Bright Eyes. The warbly voice is a little too much. Yo La Tengo were one of my favorite bands in the mid-90s. I saw them put on some great shows. That last couple of times haven’t been quite as energetic. M. Ward’s a great guitar player. I haven’t dipped into his recorded material much, but he’s talented.
Low @ Troubadour ($18) – Night two of two.
Nudist Priest @ the Echo ($10) – This is the farewell performance of the nude Judas Priest cover band.
The High Society / The Good Listeners / Miranda Lee Richards @ Bordello ($10) – Southern boogie rock.
Brimstone Howl / Beat the Devil @ Spaceland – Brimstone Howl’s a garagey, bluesy, punky band out of Nebraska.
Swerve Festival: Bonde do Role @ Echoplex (free with registration) – Indie dance crowd party hosted by DJ Franki Chan.
Neighborhood Music Festival: Spank Rock / The Faint / Chromeo / Flosstradamus / Har Mar Superstar / Brother Reade / Crystal Castles / DJ Kid Benihana / Mooky Avalon @ Exposition Park in Downtown LA ($40 pre-sale - $80 VIP)
Nocturnal Fest: Chemical Brothers / Paul Van Dyk / Carl Cox / LTJ Bukem @ 836 Francisco Street ($60) – Sounds like a good excuse to do a bunch of E and dance like a prick (if you’re into that sorta thing).
Henry Clay People / Service Group @ the Scene ($8) – I need to see these Henry Clay People. I missed them last night.
Rendezvous Night of Local Indie Music @ La Casa Blue in Higland Park (Free)

Letting Up Despite Great Faults / Hearts of Palm UK @ All Star Lanes in Eagle Rock ($5 includes bowling shoe rental) – The last night of LUDGF’s residency. I like their CD, but haven’t made it out yet.
