Buddy (9:30 PM) / Everest (10:30 PM) / Sally Jaye (8:30 PM) @ Bordello ($8) – Buddy’s a talented local singer-songwriter who plays “wimpy-core” (self-described). He’s doing a Wednesday night residency at the Bordello this month. He’s also playing an Elton John tribute at Carnegie Hall in October. Everest’s a local super group that plays mellow country-infused rock ‘n’ roll.

Spoon / Black Joe Lewis @ The Fonda ($20) – I ended up getting rid of my tickets to last night’s show. As great as their albums are, I just don’t feel like seeing them live right now.

Kinski / Dead Ponies @ the Echo ($10) – Kinski’s a heavy rock band from Seattle on Sub Pop. Dead Ponies a heavy rock band from LA. Both are worth checking out.

Dengue Fever @ MacArthur Park (Free) – One of the most unique bands (Cambodian psych) in LA playing one of the most unique locations.

Club NME: BM Linx / Sparrow Love Crew @ Spaceland ($8) – The drink prices at Spaceland are already the best in town and now they’re doing $1 Dewars after midnight on Wednesday nights.
