Tuesday Night Music Options 9/25/07

An advance heads-up for Tuesday night.....

Screening: Pearl Jam’s Immagine in Cornice (Picture in a Frame) @ Plant 16 in Van Nuys (Buy TIX) – 8:00PM – New performance film.

Tivo Alert: Sea Wolf on Kimmel

Tuesday's Free Pick:

Let’s Independent: Radars to the Sky / Tigers Can Bite You / The Hectors @ Boardner’s (Free) – This is the one year anniversary and the record release party for all the bands. Hear samples of all the bands HERE. It’s always a good time and an excuse to go to one of the only pretty cool bars in Hollywood.

Touring Band Picks:

Midlake / Maria Taylor @ the Fonda ($14) – I saw Midlake at Spaceland a couple of years ago, and it was me, Jason Lee and about ten other people. I wasn’t that into it, but then I heard that song “Roscoe” and always felt like they deserved a second chance.

Arctic Monkeys / Voxtrot @ the Palladium (Sold Out) – I saw Arctic Monkeys at Spaceland a couple of years ago and thought they were fun. I compared the lead singer to Harry Potter. I like Voxtrot more than I probably should. I saw them at the Troubadour a while back and enjoyed it.
Download “Kid Gloves

Mark Olson / Mike Stinson @ Bordello ($12) – For the country-rock fans. Mark Olson was a founding member of country-rock group, the Jayhawks. He’s no longer married to Victoria Williams. He’s got a new album that Tony Gilkyson played on. Gary Louris of the Jayhawks also appears on three songs.

Other Options:

The Monolators / Mezzanine Owls / Amateurs @ the Echo ($5 w/flyer) – I hear the new Mezzanine Owls stuff is really good. Presented by Rock Insider and LA-Underground.

James Blunt @ El Rey (Sold Out) - No. You're beautiful James Blunt.

Mystery Jets @ Cinespace (do the Dim Mak RSVP thing)

Le Meu Le Purr / OK Stranger / Solare @ Spaceland

Marie Digby @ Hotel Café

Pocahaunted @ The Smell ($5)
