Adem Plays Tangier Tonight
Tonight's Pick:
Adem / Bedroom Walls @ Tangier – Adem was in Fridge. I like his albums, but with their layered electronics, they’re the product of studio mastery. Has anybody seen him live before? Tangier’s probably a good place to see him. He’s been on tour with Badly Drawn Boy, so here’s a chance to see him solo.
Also Recommended:
TV on the Radio / Noisettes @ the Fonda (Sold Out) – I finally came around to TV on the Radio. Most people say they’re amazing live, but unfortunately I haven't seen them.
Jon Brion @ Largo ($10) – Get there very, very, very early if you want to get in.
Mike Stinson / I See Hawks in LA @ the Scene ($5) – For the country rock fans.
Other Options:
RTX @ Relax Bar [5511 Hollywood Blvd] ($10) – Jennifer from Royal Trux has a new band and a new record. They may have the worst Myspace page I’ve ever seen. They’re trying to sell you so much shit it won’t even load. Good job with that.
A Farewell to Long Gone John: The Willowz / The Ettes / Candypants / Miss Derringer @ Spaceland ($10) – Sympathy for the Record Industry night.
Whitey @ the Echo ($15) – For the indie dance crowd. Dim Mak’s putting out some Whitey stuff in the US.
Sky Parade @ Safari Sam’s ($7)
Lyrics Born / Rhettmatic @ Knitting Factory ($19) – For the underground hip-hop crowd.
Antelope / Dos / Silver Daggers @ the Smell ($5) – For the all ages crowd.
