Friday Night Music Options 3/9/07

Here’s a Friday morning time killer, explore Yacht Rock (thanks to Earlimart’s Myspace page for reminding me of this)….

Friday Night Pick:
Earlimart @ The Getty (Free) – They’ve got an album recorded that people are dying to hear. Unfortunately they’re still between record labels. Advance reservations are booked up, but the standby line starts at 6:00PM. Show at 7:30.

Then:
Sebadoh / The Bent Moustache @ the Troubadour ($15) – This is the reunion of the Sebadoh III-era lineup (Lou Barlow, Jason Lowenstein and Eric Gaffney). Go check out Sebadoh’s website for a load of great MP3s of live shows. If you're an indie rock fan who hasn't seen Sebadoh, then what kind of indie rock fan are you? I always enjoy seeing Lou.

Also Recommended:
The Deadly Syndrome / To Live and Die in LA / The Cassettes / Cavil at Rest @ El Cid ($8) – The Deadly Syndrome are an up and coming local indie rock band on the Dim Mak label who are getting bigger by the day.
Fiona Apple / Jon Brion @ Largo ($75) – Benefit for Fiona’s friend.
The Tyde / Nice Boys / Japanese Motors @ the Echo ($10)

I know less about these:
Everybody Else / Simon Dawes / Peter Walker @ Safari Sam’s ($10) – Local music.
Softlightes @ Tangier ($10)
Rodney’s Roq of Fame: The Donnas / Redd Kross / The Nymphs @ the Fonda ($10.67) – The famous KROQ DJ got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. Tonight he celebrates (and it’s cheap).
31 Knots / Two Ton Boa @ the Smell ($5) – Some all ages downtown excitement.
Anavan / Clipd Beaks @ Pehr Space ($5)
Razorlight @ El Rey (Sold Out)
