If you're an indie music lover, make sure to go vote for the Plug Awards. The nominees are picked by a bunch of bloggers (Rockinsider, GvsB, Myoldkyhome, Pitchfork, YANP, BrooklynVegan, etc.), publicists, label folks, celebs, etc. LA is well represented on the list - it's great to be a music fan in Los Angeles. Once again I would like to extend a giant middle finger to Amy Phillips and the entire virtual staff of the Pitchfork blog. Here's what they had to say, "But please for the love of god, stay away from Silversun Pickups." Hey f--- you Amy Phillips and Pitchfork. Let's recap: they gave SSPU a 5.0, Cold War Kids a 5.0, Jenny Lewis a 6.1 and didn't bother to review the Mika Miko or Year Future records. I have a lot of respect for all five of those bands. They've all got different fanbases but great relationships with their audience.

I didn't know you liked Mika Miko...weird the girl lead singer of the band is a family friend and I've never seen them play. BTW...Parson red Heads were awesome last night...second time I saw them and even more impressive than the first...I can't wait until they become the next blog sensation and P-fork then rips them for some ridiculous arbitrary reason...perhaps because they have red hair.
