The Clean Prophets Play Amoeba at 7:00PM Tonight
Tonight's Pick:
The Clean Prophets @ Amoeba (Free) – After a flurry of recent local signings and several of our bands getting national attention, hopefully the Clean Prophets are next. I’ve posted that Tesh video before, but it’s worth another look. In the past I’ve compared them to Echo & the Bunnymen and the Chameleons with some Cure in there as well. While they’ve probably listened to their share of 1980’s British music, they’re not genre copycats in any way. One look at their press clippings and you'll see bands I don't hear at all. Download “Crime”
The 88 @ the Getty (Free) – Local pop guys that are out on the road so much, you don’t get as many chances to see them.
Seneca Hawk / The Letter Openers @ Spaceland
Mika Miko @ the Smell ($5) – Local KRS girls.
Lucero / Rocky Votolato / William Elliott Whitmore @ Troubadour (Sold Out) – One of my really good friends is a big Lucero fan. If you like barroom, alt-country then you will be too. Download Votolato’s “Portland is Leaving”
Circus Minor / The Oohlas @ the Echo ($5) –
The Bird and the Bee @ Silverlake Lounge ($10) – Inara George & Greg Kurstin
Kristen Hirsh @ El Cid ($17.50)
Electric Six @ Key Club ($15)
