Tonight's Pick:
Asobi Seksu / Darker My Love @ the Echo ($8) – If dreamy, shoegazer music with pop elements is your thing, then you’ll dig Asobi Seksu. Download “New Years” Darker My Love is a powerful live band. Their album doesn’t quite capture their live sound.
Also Appearing:
Magnolia Electric Company @ Knitting Factory ($13) - I like their records pretty well. Might be a little mellow.
Roger Waters performs Dark Side of the Moon @ Hollywood Bowl - $210 tickets are still available. Does anybody think maybe they’re charging too much? I mean, shouldn’t this have sold out without a problem.
The Oohlas / West Indian Girl @ Molly Malone’s ($6)
The Killers @ Wiltern (Sold out) – Most of the people bashing them now were probably fans when their last album came out.
Adult @ Troubadour ($15)
Country Joe McDonald @ McCabe’s ($16) – Psychedelic folk-rock legend. He was at Woodstock and testified at the Chicago Seven trial along with Allen Ginsberg, Timothy Leary, Arlo Guthrie, Phil Ochs, Judy Collins and Pete Seeger.
The Bird & the Bee @ Silverlake Lounge ($10) – Greg Kurstin and Inara George
