Sunday's Pick:
Head Like a Kite @ Sea Level 4:00PM (Free) - These guys sent me their record and I like it. That's always a bonus. They're obviously getting some good advice, because they're hitting the buzz spots. Sunday at Sea Level. Monday at Spaceland, Tuesday on KXLU then at Cinespace. Brian Deck produced their album. Not sure what the live show's like, here's what it says on Myspace: "Live, HEAD LIKE A KITE includes TRENT MOORMAN on drums, keys, and sampler. Video Projectionists TONY NELSON or MARLON SCHAEFFER join the tours and edit live film clips projected behind the band." Magnet's probably a better hype machine than me, so here's what they say: "Sonic Youth guitar treatments upon Stereolab keyboards on top of Primal Scream-style vocal loops....a well-edited scrapbook of retro-futurism."
Download "Noisy at the Circus" (Smoosh isn't touring with them, so this might not be the best track to give you).
