My favorite American print music/culture magazine is PASTE. As I was digging through my last 100 or so unopened emails, I uncovered a diamond in the rough. Starting last Monday, and continuing for two weeks, PASTE is offering print subscriptions at any price you want to pay (as long as it's at least $1). I'm finally a subscriber after years of leafing through it at the newstand (and frequently buying it for plane trips).
Usually subscriptions are $19.95, so depending on what you pay, t's a damn good deal. If you offer to pay more than $20 you will be thanked in print.
You can even sign up your friends for gift subscriptions.
